Serendipity - CTMH

This next set of cards was made with a paper pack that has now been discontinued. It is called Serendipity. It is from Close to my Heart. I absolutely adore their products! Everything is coordinated so you get the plain card stock that matches the colors in the patterned papers, ribbon, etc. Ink and other embellishments are all coordinated as well! Definitely worth checking out if you aren't familiar with their products.

This was originally a set of 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs). I gave away both of the other cards and am not sure I took a picture of either of them. If I come across a picture of it, I'll add it later.
I used the sketch ideas from the Close to my Heart Originals book. This is a great book! It has a lot of great sketch ideas for cards. This particular one gives you the cuts for all 10 cards so you can cut the pieces all at one time and then embellish as you please.

Here are the 8 cards together:

Enjoy :)

I made the DCWV Top 10!

The card I submitted for the April Stack-a-holic challenge over at the DCWV Diary blog made the top 10! Check out the links provided. The card is pictured below.

HIMCR #93 - Super Scraps Saturday Challenge

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made for the HIMCR #93 Super Scraps Saturday Challenge.
The card base is from DCWV. Everything on this card is from my scraps stash. I have no idea what company any of it is from except for the blue dotted paper; that's from Bo Bunny.
Enjoy! :)

April Stack-a-holic Sketch

This is my entry for the April Stack-a-holic challenge over at the DCWV blog http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2013/04/aprils-stack-holic-template-challenge.html

All papers are from the DCWV Rockstar mat stack. I inked the edges with CTMH chocolate ink. The hemp is from CTMH as well. The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash. The star and the sentiment piece are chipboard elements from the DCWV Rock King set. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch for the scalloped/dots border under the sentiment. Enjoy :)

Valentine's Day Love

This week is all about getting my previously made cards out here on my blog. I spent some time this weekend taking pictures of all of them and will be posting them this week.
To start the week off, I've got a few Valentine's Day themed cards.
The paper and stickers are from the Bee Mine line from 3 Bugs in a Rug company.

On this one, it's a little hard to see, but I added a strip of sheer pink ribbon at the top with 3 white heart brads from my collection. The "I Love Being Loved by You" is a sticker from the collection. It is one of my favorite sayings. :)

On this one I cut squares from white card stock and rounded the corners, then stuck some of the card stock stickers on them and one in the middle without the white backing.
I love how this one turned out! The "Bee mine" paper is just cut from a 12x12 piece. At the top, I adhered a piece of red felt scalloped ribbon. Over top of that I put a piece of sheer pink ribbon, added a bow and put a rhinestone in the center. Ta-da!

All three of these cards were made while I was trying to figure out how to use the designs in scrapbook paper to my advantage on cards. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. :)

Thanks for looking. I'll be posting more this week.

Red and Purple butterfly

Last year, for her birthday, my coworker Irma, wanted a red bicycle. So, I made her a card with a red bicycle on it :) (I will post a picture of that in the near future...the picture is stored on my external hard drive and I am just too tired to go get it right now...ha ha.)
So, this year, I asked her what she wanted for her birthday. She said she wanted to get a red and purple butterfly tattoo. So...here's the card I made for her:

The butterfly was cut from one of my favorite cartridges Storybook. I can't remember what size I cut it at, but I cut the purple one using the Shorty/Holes cut, and the regular butterfly cut for the red one. The background paper is just a speckled paper that I got in on clearance somewhere. I wrote "Happy Birthday" with a Zig red pen.
