Coworker changing jobs

One of my teammates is changing companies and today is his last day with us. I made this card rather quickly last night for the team to sign so that he had a good send off from us.
Yes, I made an underwear card, and I love it!

  • The card base is my trusty white card stock from Walmart.
  • The kraft paper is from Recollections at Michael's.
  • The stamp set used is from Unity Stamps.
He has a great sense of humor and got a good laugh out of the card.

Reindeer Christmas Card

This card is very similar to the one I made for my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas. I liked the papers and the layout so well that I made a couple of cards like this. This one I gave to my boyfriend's step-mom for Christmas. We had a gift card for her so I made sure it would fit inside the card first.
  • The card base is from Stampin' Up.
  • The snowflake patterned paper is from the DCWV Christmas and Winter 180 stack. Since the paper is so similar in color to the card base, I inked the edges with black ink.
  • The gray dotted paper is from the Sparkling Sleigh Ride stack from My Mind's Eye.I bought that stack on clearance a few years ago from Hobby Lobby (I don't shop there often but loved this stack when I found it).
  • The reindeer image is from Hampton Art. It was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
  • The red rhinestones were from my stash.

Christmas Pinwheel Tags

I found a cute pinwheel card on Pinterest and followed the link to see if there was a tutorial. Sure enough, there was!

I have seen other tutorials for this pinwheel, but I followed this one and I found it to be very easy and fun.

I had some Christmas patterned paper in my stash that I pulled out. I wasn't sure that these two patterns would really work together, but I think they work well.
I planned on turning these into cards, but I used them for gift tags instead. I wrote the person's name on the green squares (yes, all four of them). I think they turned out well. Once everyone had unwrapped their gifts one of my friends took the tags off from the wrapping and saved them. She said they were too cute to throw away.

I will definitely be using this technique in the future.

Go Blue Christmas tree card

I woke up this morning and realized that I forgot to wrap the gifts for our Christmas family get together today. Since one of the gifts was a gift card, I needed to make a holder or a card to put it in.

I decided on a card.

The card base is from Stampin Up. I bought it from a beautiful woman who, due to health issues, couldn't craft anymore. I don't know the name of them or the color.
The snowflake patterned paper is from the DCWV Christmas and Winter 180 stack.
Since it is such a similar color to the card base, I inked the edges of all of the papers used with black ink.

The gray dotted papers is from the Sparkling Sleigh Ride stack from My Mind's Eye. I bought this stack on clearance a couple of years ago.

The image is from Hampton Art.
I stamped and colored a bunch of images, including this one, weeks ago with my Spectrum Noir markers.
I have much to learn with these markers but I think it turned out pretty cute.

My brother and sister-in-law are big fans of University of Michigan so I decorated the tree with their team colors.

The rhinestones are from my stash.

I also made tags from previously stamped and colored images but I did not take pictures of those.

Birthday Butterflies

This is another card I made for a coworker for their birthday. This was a sketch I found on Pinterest. I have many sketches saved there, but have only used a few.
The original sketch can be found here.

I used all papers from my scrap stash. The butterflies are stickers from a set from Jenni Bowlin. This is the set of butterflies:

I found them on clearance at one of my local craft stores, but can be purchased here.
I can't remember which set the sentiment stamp came from. I believe it was from a Close to my Heart set.

This is another sketch that is very versatile and can be used for any occasion. The butterflies could easily be exchanged for hearts, starts, snowflakes, other animals, flowers, leaves, etc.

Enjoy!

Birthday Card inspired from Pinterest

I found this card layout on Pinterest. The original post can be found here.
I love borrowing ideas from others and found this to be a very versatile layout. It was a bit tedious to make, but well worth it. I cut each square at one inch, but I could have easily done 1.5 inch. This was a great way to use up scraps of paper I had. I even borrowed from my friend's scrap paper bin too!
This was made for a coworker on my team.

I cut enough to make two cards like this. The other pieces have not been assembled into a card yet, but it will be added to my stash once completed. Does anyone else do that? I have started making multiple cards at one time, but I will finish one card needed for a specific occasion, prep the pieces I need for a few more cards, and then leave them in a pile to put together at a later time. I have them neatly in plastic containers, but now I just need to pull them out and assemble the cards.

This card will definitely be recreated.
Enjoy!

Mariposa Bliss

This card was made using chipboard stickers and patterned paper from the DCWV Mariposa set. The paper edges were inked with Chocolate ink from Close to my Heart.
This card was given to a coworker to congratulate her on her wedding and wish her many years of marital bliss.

DCWV Autumn Stack turned Birthday

I had this card laying around in my stash. I wasn't sure I liked it the way it was and wasn't sure what else to do with it so I left it alone.
I needed a quick birthday card for a co-worker so I pulled this one out and wrote "Happy Birthday" above the strip at the bottom. It actually worked out nicely and gave it just the little extra that the card needed.

  • The card base is from a set of cream colored card bases I bought on clearance a long time ago.
  • The patterned papers are from the DCWV The Autumn Melody Stack.
  • The circles were cut using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Nestabilities.
  • The darker circle is actually a stamped image onto scrap paper. The image is from the Close to My Heart "Potential" stamp set. It was stamped with Close to my Heart Chocolate ink.

Thinking of you sketch card

I made this card for a coworker. I honestly don't know what was going on but my supervisor asked for a card like this.
The patterned papers are from DCWV The Guy Stack.
The bling is from my stash.
This card was based off from a card I found online. I just saved the picture but would love to give credit to whomever made it. This is an excellent layout and very versatile.

Baby Shower Invitations

I made these invitations for my sister's nursery rhyme themed baby shower.
We kept them very simple as we had lots of information to put on the inside.
The clock image is from the Cricut Nursery Rhymes cartridge.
The tag image is from another Cricut cartridge, but I can't remember which one.

Handsome Card

I made this card for my man. He does so much for us and I love to show my appreciation in many ways including cards.
The card base is from Stampin' Up.
The patterned paper and sentiment are all from DCWV The Guy Stack.
The edges are inked with CTMH ink.

Wedding card

I made this card for a friend's wedding. The card base is from Stampin' Up.
The patterned papers were from my stash of scraps.
I inked the edges of the patterned square with blue (I can't remember which color) ink from Close To My Heart.
I didn't have the blue paper I needed so I used the same ink and just inked a scrap piece of paper with the ink pad to help the punched border show.
Enjoy!

Spring Window Display for Posey's Place

This is the Spring window display for Posey's Place. If you're ever in the area, check it out!
The banner is hung with paracord and clothespins.
The pennants were cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. The paper is from a DCWV stack (I can't remember which one). The letters were cut from various cartridges.
The rest of the display is comprised of various items. This display was inspired by this post on Pinterest. (How much fun is Pinterest?!)
My mom and I had so much fun putting this together.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Something New

I made this card for a coworker who lost her baby during pregnancy. I found inspiration for this card on Pinterest (here is the site the picture was taken from).

The patterned papers are from a Colorbok stack I got recently from Walmart (I think it was a camping stack). The green paper was from my stash.
The stamp is from the Close to my Heart Card Chatter - Sympathy set.

The candy dots were from my stash.
The hemp is from Close to my Heart.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. The challenge this week is to use something new. All of the patterned papers I used on this card I bought last week and this was the first time I had used them. I may have to go back and get some more. :)

Enjoy!
